Webinar: Improving Medical Monitoring and Firefighter Rehab
Join us December 10 at 11:00 AM ET for "Improving Medical Monitoring and Firefighter Rehab" with Mike McEvoy, EMS Coordinator for Saratoga County (NY) and the EMS Director on the Board of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs.
Since the 2008 release of the NFPA 1584 Standard for Firefighter Rehab and Medical Monitoring, medicine and science have evolved, affecting how firefighters should rehab. Preliminary information suggests that the 2015 revision to NFPA 1584 will place greater responsibility on firefighters, adjust hydration and electrolyte replacement strategies, and improve medical monitoring requirements. This webinar offers a review of the evolving science, changes in our understanding of hydration, cooling, rest and recovery with an eye towards how these will affect the revision of NFPA 1584.
