Life membership is a special way for the IAFC to show our appreciation for your continuous support during your years as a chief officer.
To be eligible, you must be a Regular member who is fully retired from the fire service and has been a member continuously (i.e., without breaks in your membership) as specified below:
Joined prior to August 28, 2003
- Have a minimum of ten consecutive years as a Regular member; and,
- Are a Regular member at the time you retired from the fire service.
Joined between August 28, 2003 and August 28, 2011
- Have a minimum of fifteen consecutive years as a Regular member; and,
- Are a Regular member at the time you retire from the fire service.
Members joining after August 28, 2011
- Have a minimum of twenty consecutive years as a Regular member; and,
- Are a Regular member at the time you retire from the fire service.
IAFC life membership includes:
- Dues-free IAFC and division membership
- Dues-free section membership (subject to eligibility criteria for life members)
- Email copies of iCHIEFS News
- Member alerts
- Member benefits
- Entitled to vote on all matters requiring a vote
