Officer Development Program Leadership Development Certification Series

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Officer Development Program (ODP), Leadership Development Certification Series (ODP-LDCS), is a higher-education partnership between the IAFC and Columbia Southern University (CSU). The ODP-LDCS offers three (3) program levels of officer development certification designed to develop the skills and knowledge of Company Officers, Chief Officers, and Executive Chief Officers.

Each ODP-LDCS program level consists of three (3) courses, all delivered by qualified CSU faculty members. Each course provides eight (8) units of instruction and is worth one (1) undergraduate college credit upon successful examination. After successful completion of each IAFC ODP-LCDS program level, students are eligible to receive three (3) undergraduate college credits transferred into a CSU degree program.

Courses are delivered online and onsite at IAFC Fire-Rescue International (FRI) and through IAFC Division and State regional delivery programs. Each IAFC ODP-LDCS program level can be completed 100% online or through a combination of online and onsite course completion. Each course requires successful completion of an online examination. Successful completion of each IAFC ODP-LDCS program level requires successful completion of all three (3) courses.
