2024 VCOS Election

The 2024 election will run exclusively online in conjunction with the IAFC election.

The VCOS board consists of nine members at-large and the VCOS international director, for a total of ten board members. No more than two at-large board members from the same division can serve on the board at the same time.

Due to the untimely passing of Chief Chuck Flynn, there is vacancy in the office of a Member-at-Large that he held. Chief Flynn’s Member-at-large term on the VCOS Board of Directors expires in 2026. Per the VCOS Bylaws, as the vacancy occurred between the time of January 1 and April 15 of the current year, and the next election cycle is the 2024 election cycle, a fourth candidate will be elected. Upon receiving the election results, the top three (3) vote getters will be elected to the statutory open board seats. The fourth vote getter will be offered the opportunity to fulfill the unexpired term of the vacant Member-at-Large position. If that candidate declines, the candidate will be removed from consideration and the next candidate with the most votes will be elected as the "fourth vote getter" and will be offered the opportunity to fulfill the unexpired term of the vacant Member-at-Large. If needed, this process will continue until the vacancy is filled.
