The IAFC encourages its members to attend the 30th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium and Dinner on April 18-19. The dinner presents a great opportunity to meet with your U.S. senators and representatives and ask them to support legislation that helps your local fire department.
This webinar will help you to prepare for your meetings on Capitol Hill. The presenters discussed proposed funding for important U.S. federal fire-service programs such as the U.S. Fire Administration, the FIRE and SAFER Grant programs; and federal wildland-fire programs.
Additional discussion points include the status of legislation on cancer research and risk in firefighters, incentives for local volunteer firefighters; and training programs to improve response to rail incidents involving hazardous materials.
