To help experience the difference the Hazmat Annual Conference has made for so many others, the IAFC, the IME and TX HEAT are offer conference assistance scholarships.
Scholarship recipients receive:
- Complimentary conference registration
- Stipend to offset housing arrangements, in some cases
Scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified persons based on application review. To learn about each scholarship winner criteria, please see below.
Texas HazMat Education and Training (TX HEAT) Scholarship
Each year the Texas HazMat Education And Training (TX HEAT) Scholarship fund awards one $2500 scholarship to a Texas Emergency Response Department, Agency or Organization to allow two (2) members of their HazMat Team to attend the IAFC Hazardous Materials Response Teams Conference.
Qualified applicants must be an active career or volunteer member of an emergency services department, agency or organization in the State of Texas, be a U.S. citizen currently residing in the State of Texas and be a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) certified Hazardous Materials Technician.

TX Heat Application
IAFC and the Institute of Makers of Explosives (IME) are proud to announce the sponsorship to one (1) qualified member of the hazardous materials response community whose participation would not be possible without financial assistance. IAFC and IME believe that education is the best protection to those asked by our communities to place themselves in harm’s way.
The full cost of registration will be covered; the awardee must cover travel expenses and housing arrangements.
With the proceeds acquired by the Hazmat 2019 pre-conference sessions, the IAFC is pleased to offer five (5) scholarships for those in need of financial assistance to attend the Hazmat 2020 Conference. We realize these are challenging times and we hope this scholarship will enable greater participation in the conference.
The full cost of registration and three (3) hotel nights will be covered; the awardee must cover travel expenses.
