The Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Conference is looking for presenters for the 2027 education program, March 23 - 25, 2027 in Austin, TX.
Is your department doing great things that others can learn from? If so, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues as you stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of the WUI.
Session Formats
Individuals may select from the following session delivery methods for their presentation:
- Preconference Sessions
Preconference sessions will take place on the days leading up to the conferece. During your submission, you will be required to select your desired course length:
- 2-day (16-hour) course
- 1-day (8-hour) course
- Half-day (4-hour) course
- Breakout Sessions
Breakout sessions are 60- to 90-minute sessions. You will be required to select one of the following track areas for your session:
- Fire-Adapted Communities
- Operations & Suppression
- Wildland Fire Policy & Tools
- Other (will need to specify)
- Plenary Session
60-minute presentation or panel discussion to take place during one of the General Sessions.
Requirements for the Submission Process
Submitters can expect to be asked for the following information during the submission process:
- Presenter(s) information to include name, title, organization, contact information, and a brief bio. You will be able to indicate if there are multiple speakers for your submission.
- An abstract used to provide an in-depth description of your session to be used by the planning committee in the submission review process.
- Learning objectives.
- Information on adult learning in their session - how you will make it interactive.
- Information on if the content has been presented before.
