Propane Emergencies Training - Operations

October 28 - 30, 2026 | Jupiter, FL

Propane Awareness Training is a blended online and instructor-led training program developed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) in partnership with the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) to strengthen fire service preparedness for propane-related hazardous materials incidents.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of propane awareness, operations, and specialist-level competencies, including mission-specific operations training for responders with advanced or specialized duties. The course emphasizes how NFPA and OSHA requirements intersect; clarifies the distinctions between employee, operations-level, and specialist roles; and prepares responders to operate safely and effectively while coordinating with the propane industry and regulatory partners.

This program is ideal for the fire and hazmat leader seeking to meet evolving national standards and enhance their agency's readiness for propane emergencies.

Online courses, to be completed on the IAFC Academy before the in-person delivery:

  1. Propane Emergencies Training for Awareness Mission-Specific Responders
