IAFC Advances Mutual Aid
The IAFC is currently working on two projects funded by DHS’ National Integration Center (NIC) that will help the fire service’s ability to support the National Response Framework (NRF) and implement concepts presented in the National Incident Management System (NIMS):
- Emergency Management Committee (EMC) was created to help identify and solve problems when coordinating and responding to state-to-state mutual aid requests.
- National Fire Service Intrastate Mutual Aid System (IMAS) was created to help support the creation of statewide mutual aid response system throughout the country.
