DHS Announces Opening of Application Period for Fiscal Year 2010 SAFER Grants The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced that the FY 2010 application period will open on August 17, at 8 am Eastern Time and will close on Friday, September 17, at 5 pm Eastern Time. Congress appropriated $420 million for the FY 2010 SAFER grants, which can be used to hire firefighters or recruit and retain volunteer firefighters.
New NFIRS Data Entry Interface Available USFA has recently released a new NFIRS web-based data entry tool known as the Data Entry Browser Interface, or DEBI.
