Who can join the IAFC?
Anyone can join the IAFC. There are four membership types—see which best fits your qualifications:
Regular Membership status is available to Fire Chiefs, Fire Marshals, chief officers with 2-5 bugles. This category INCLUDES Division membership. Join online now | Join form (pdf)
Departmental Membership is open to departments that serve a population of 10,000 or less. The entire department can join for the price of a regular membership. This category INCLUDES Division membership. Get details and apply now!
Affiliate Membership is available to members of a fire department or emergency medical services agency (Captains, Lieutenants, Firefighters, Paramedics, Code Officials, Mechanics, Administrative Staff and others) who are not chief officers. This is the most basic membership and does not provide division benefits. Join now (pdf)
Associate Membership is available to elected or appointed officials, individuals representing businesses that are interested in the IAFC, and other interested parties. This cateogry INCLUDES Division membership. Join online now | Join form (pdf)
When you join the IAFC as a Regular, Departmental or Associate member, you get TWO memberships for the price of one. You'll receive basic membership in the IAFC AND membership in a regional Division. Division membership allows you to network at a more regional level with additional benefits. If you join as an Affiliate member, you receive only basic membership in the IAFC.
