IAFC On Scene: July 1, 2009
With the conclusion of the fifth annual Fire/EMS Safety, Health and Survival Week, the IAFC and the IAFF want to know—what did your department do to encourage you to “Protect Yourself: Your Safety, Health and Survival Are Your Responsibility?” Departments across the United States, Canada and beyond took part in Safety Week, and we are now looking for feedback on your activities—what worked and what didn’t.
Please Take the 2009 Safety Week Survey – We’ve prepared an online survey for you to provide your input. The survey takes only a few minutes of your time, but the feedback is priceless. It will help us plan future events that best serve you and your department on the critical issue of firefighter and EMS personnel safety and will assist the IAFC’s Safety, Health and Survival Section in theme and content development for next year.
Please Send Us Your Stories & Photos – In addition to conducting this survey, the IAFC will feature department stories and pictures in the August 1 issue of IAFC On Scene. If you’d like the chance to share your stories from Safety Week, please send an email to OnScene@iafc.org, telling us how you spent your day or the week, what activities you did, the response from your department members and community and overall how participating in Safety Week was beneficial to you and your department. Remember to include any pictures you think best illustrate the events in which your department participated.
Thank you for taking part in this united effort to keep our first responders safe and sharing your experience with the rest of the fire and emergency service!
