21st Century Fire & Emergency Services White Paper, released in 2020, is the final product of a joint effort between the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) and the International Association of City/County Managers (ICMA), with significant feedback from members of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). The report provides a blueprint for sustaining and maintaining relevance of the fire and EMS services into the future. The report outlines eight critical issues, with associated cases studies and examples of best practices, so agencies can better prepare for the speed and volatility of future change.

Agenda

  • Attendees will be provided a overview of the development of the project and how stakeholder feedback was used to ensure a broad perspective on all the issues presented
  • Attendees will be provided examples of best practices currently utilized by fire and EMS agencies to ensure they provide sustainable service to their communities
  • Attendees will provided with suggested strategies in developing their own internal processes of gathering community feedback to ensure they remain relevant to the communities they serve
