This report explores best practices while using privately owned vehicles (POV) for ESO responses. The report is a joint effort between the Volunteer and Combination Officers Section (VCOS), Safety, Health and Survival Section (SHSS), and the NVFC.

This best practices report contains model policies and recommended procedures fire departments can adopt to minimize injuries and deaths while responders are using their own vehicles during emergencies.
