Officer Development Program

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Officer Development Program (ODP), Leadership Development Symposium Series (ODP-LDSS), is a professional development series focused on continuous improvement of the skills and knowledge of Company Officers, Chief Officers, and Executive Chief Officers. ODP-LDSS courses are delivered onsite at IAFC conferences and events, IAFC Division conferences and events, state and regional fire and rescue organizations, and in partnership with state and local fire and rescue agencies.

ODP-LDSS courses approved by the IAFC for delivery must meet minimum curriculum and learning competency requirements for IAFC ODP-LDSS Company Officer, ODP-LDSS Chief Officer, or ODP-LDSS Executive Chief Officer, follow an IAFC approved course of instruction, and be delivered by IAFC vetted and approved instructors. ODP-LDSS students who successfully complete each ODP-LDSS course are eligible for an IAFC CEU credential.

LDCS - Company Officer (LDCS-CO)

Learning outcomes based on NFPA 1021: Fire Officer I and II JPR’s, IAFC Officer Development Handbook, and IAFC identified company officer competencies.

LDCS – Chief Officer (LDCS-CHF)

Learning outcomes based on NFPA 1021: Fire Officer III and IV JPR’s, IAFC Officer Development Handbook, and IAFC identified company officer competencies

LDCS – Executive Chief Officer (LDCS-ECO)

Learning outcomes based on IAFC Officer Development Handbook and IAFC identified executive chief officer competencies.

 Accessible: National, Regional and State onsite options make learning more convenient.
 Qualifiable: Curated content, learning competency requirements, validated completion, and CEU credential.
 Credible: Minimum curriculum standards delivered by vetted and approved instructors.
