Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 

The IAFC Fire Camp Scholarships program, funded by a FEMA SAFER grant, supports volunteer and combination fire departments across the United States to help pay for fire camps aimed at volunteer recruitment, designed to inspire, educate, and empower.

These scholarships help promote the future workforce in fire and emergency services

Your award will be reimbursed when the required documentation has been submitted and approved, you can select to be reimbursed in up to three installments. The first and second installments will require progress reports and the final reimbursement will require a summary report of the camp and required documentation.

The funding can be used for fire camps that have occurred since June 2024 and up to May 2026

Who’s Eligible?

  • Volunteer or combination departments
  • Located in the United States

Apply Now

Approved Uses of Funds

  • Supplies
  • Marketing
  • Facility rental fees
  • Not allowed: fuel costs, mileage, internet, computers, copiers, or giveaways (pens, shirts, mugs, balloons, etc.).

Recipient Requirements

  • Track all expenses & receipts
  • Submit final report: Expense summary and Photos of the fire camp
