This webinar focuses on what happens after the fire is out. What is the role of the Incident Commander post-fire? We must educate property owners about the need to secure the building and the need to protect children from hazardous scenes. This panel will discuss the education and protection of homeowners after an incident.

Tony Young spent 26 years with the Oklahoma City Fire Department promoting through the operations work section to Deputy Fire Chief and Public Information Officer. Tony retired January 1st, 2008 and started with 1-800-BOARDUP January 2nd with our Oklahoma City office as their Director of Emergency Services.

Fire Chief James B. Harmes began his career in the Fire Service in 1972. Jim was a college student who wanted to help his local community. After 13 years of being a “part-time” firefighter/Fire Chief, Jim began his career in the City of Burton, MI Fire Department, outside of Flint. After 4 years, he was chosen to run the Grand Blanc Fire Department in 1989. He served that community for just about 25. 5 years He became President of the Southeastern Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs in 1993, the Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs in 1996 and the International Association of Fire Chiefs in 2006. Chief Harmes retired from the Fire Service in June of 2014 with more than 42 years. Chief Harmes was an instructor at numerous colleges and Eastern Michigan University. As President of the IAFC, he spoke at many events and in front of Congress a number of times. Jim has been employed by 1-800 Board Up since August of 2014.

Jack Parow has over 43 years distinguished experience in the fire service, culminating in serving as President and Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) 2010 - 2011. Prior, he served as Fire Chief of the Chelmsford, MA. Fire Department and has over 25 years as Chief of Department. He is known as a leader, educator, strategist, an innovator and always up for a challenge. Chief Parow lectures nationally and internationally on Fire and EMS issues. Chief Parow holds his MBA from State University of New York, Empire State College and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Engineering Technology and Safety from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program of the U.S. Fire Administration/National Fire Academy and the Homeland Security Executive Leaders Program of the Naval Post Graduate School. Additionally, Chief Parow has been a Professor at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA teaching in the Masters in Public Administration Program for the last 25 years.

Attorney Louie Wright is General Counsel to Local No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters that represents Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics and Assistant Prosecutors, in twelve (12) separate political subdivisions. He has also represented a number of other public and private sector unions, and he represents working people in a variety of areas. Before starting his own practice, Louie was Of Counsel to a prominent Labor Law firm, in Kansas City, Kansas. Prior to entering private practice, he served, for three years, as a Judicial Law Clerk to United States District Court Judge, Elmo B. Hunter. Louie is not your Run of the Mill Attorney. He’s been where his clients have been. Louie is a former Fire Captain and EMT. Prior to and after attending law school, Louie served as a local union president and international union district vice president.
