New Directory Provides Links to Needed Public-Safety Broadband Information

The National Public Safety Telecommunications Council has issued a new resource to help local public-safety agencies and others looking at next steps in the creation of the long-awaited nationwide public-safety broadband network.

The Public Safety Broadband Directory links to a wide range of current information on the nationwide efforts to bring broadband to public safety.

The Directory categorizes all resource links both by activities in broadband, such as governance, policy, standards, testbeds and training, and by the organizations integrally involved in the nationwide public-safety broadband network.

Support for the Directory is provided by DHS's Science and Technology Directorate, Office for Interoperability and Compatibility and the National Protection and Programs Directorate, Office of Emergency Communications.

Ann Davison, CAE, is the strategic information manager for the IAFC.
