National EMS Week (May 15-21)

Rising to the Challenge

, National EMS Week is May 15-21

This year’s theme is “Rising to the Challenge.” Chief Mike McEvoy, the EMS Section Chair, says this theme “could not be a more appropriate theme for EMS Week 2022. Fire-based EMS assumed many new roles during the pandemic and, in many communities, has assumed an integral role in Public Health.

The IAFC is a proud partner of EMS Week and urges fire departments to take action to recognize the important role that EMS providers play in serving their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The American College of Emergency Physicians and the National Association of EMTs have developed some great resources on their National EMS Week webpage.
