Dry Ice Safety Advisory

COVID-19 vaccines likely will need to be kept at extremely low temperatures. Due to this need, the vaccine dosages are expected to be transported in containers of dry ice. In anticipating increased dry ice injuries and thermal burns that may occur; as a result, the IAFC encourages fire chiefs to review information related to dry ice safety. The IAFC Hazardous Materials Committee has recently released an advisory with information for fire chiefs. Take a moment to review this important information and ensure your personnel are ready for any potential emergencies.
