Acting FEMA Administrator Replaced

On May 7, the acting administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) testified before the House Appropriations Committee about FEMA’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget. At the hearing, he expressed support for FEMA’s mission. He was removed on May 8, and replaced by David Richardson, the Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security's Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD).
