Call for Candidates for the 2026 Company Officers Section Election

In preparation for the 2026 election, we are seeking candidates for four Board of Directors seats.

Election details and open seats

This year’s COS board election will fill four board member positions, each carrying a three-year term that will extend through Fire-Rescue International (FRI) 2029.

The COS Board comprises various roles, including a chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer, and eight at-large board members, all elected by the section membership.

Eligibility and requirements for candidates

To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be regular, basic, affiliate, or life members in good standing of both the IAFC and the COS.

Furthermore, they are expected to attend the annual meeting at Fire-Rescue International and participate in monthly conference calls.

Additional duties and qualifications are detailed in the Section Bylaws, Article 5, Section 4.

Prospective nominees are required to submit several pieces of information to Lieutenant Ryan Meigel rmeigel@westminsterco.gov and Battalion Chief Jesse Schilling jschilli@scgov.net, the COS Elections Committee Co-Chairs, by 11:59 PM (EST), March 15, 2026.

  • Statement of qualifications and intent (limited to 150 words and will be published on the online ballot)
  • Brief professional biography
  • Current resume
