Vector Solutions and the IAFC’s VCOS Continue a Longstanding Tradition of Honoring Excellence in Fire Service Training!
For the 13th consecutive year, Vector Solutions and the IAFC’s Volunteer and Combination Officers Section (VCOS) are proud to recognize exceptional leadership in fire service training through the annual Training Officer Recognition Award.
This award celebrates the dedicated training officers who are making a lasting impact through innovative training programs, leadership, and commitment to firefighter readiness and safety.
Do you know a training officer who consistently goes above and beyond for their department and community? Now is the time to recognize their efforts as the winner will receive an expense-paid trip to the IAFC's Fire-Rescue International in August!
The 2026 Training Officer Recognition Award
The recipient of the 2026 Training Officer Recognition Award will receive:
- Complimentary registration to Fire-Rescue International (FRI) 2026 in Kansas City, MO
- Round-trip airfare to the conference
- A three-night hotel stay
- Recognition during the VCOS section meeting during FRI
Important Dates to Remember:
- Nomination period runs now through June 30
- Winner will be announced in early July
- Fire-Rescue International takes place Aug. 13-14 in Kansas City, MO
Nomination Criteria
- Nominees may include chiefs, training officers, or other individuals actively involved in department training initiatives
- Nominees should demonstrate creativity and innovation in fire service training
- Nominees must be an IAFC member, or serve in a department where either the department or the fire chief is an active IAFC member
