IAFC Foundation Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant

Grant Expands Leadership Training for Next Generation Fire Service Leaders

Chantilly, Va. – The International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation (IAFCF) today announced it has received a $40,000 grant from Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc., to continue the Foundation’s efforts to train America’s future fire service leaders.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Motorola Solutions Foundation has provided grant funding in support of the IAFC Foundation’s leadership training initiatives. Since 2013, more than 1,000 company officers across the US have participated in the IAFC’s leadership program. This training follows the standards set forth in the IAFC’s nationally recognized Officer Development Program (ODP).

IAFC Foundation President Anthony P. Campisi, president and CEO of Glatfelter Insurance Group, said the Foundation is excited to continue providing officer development training across the U.S.

“We thank Motorola for its continued commitment to training our next generation fire service leaders,” Campisi said. “The demands and challenges confronting today’s company officers have never been greater. It’s imperative they have the education and training required to best serve their communities and fellow first responders.”

Motorola Solutions Foundation awards grants each year to organizations which support and advance public safety programs and technology and engineering education initiatives.

This year, Motorola Solutions Foundation grants will support programs that help more than 2 million students, teachers, first responders and community members around the globe. There is a specific focus on providing grants to programs that impact underrepresented populations, including females, minorities, people with disabilities, veterans and others.

“We are very pleased to support the work of the IAFC Foundation,” said Monica Mueller, executive director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. “We believe in organizations that foster innovation and drive change, and we’re proud to be part of the positive impact they are making in the community.”
