Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) Assistance Program

Wildland Fire Programs staff and WUI subject matter experts will select six (6) fire departments and partnering agencies to work with on updating/developing their Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Staff will assist department personnel in the update/development of a CWPP that addresses community risk of wildfire. Selected departments will also receive up to $6,000 in funding to coordinate a local CWPP Community Day. Departments must complete all deliverables by July 31, 2024.

This project will require a significant time commitment and dedication from department personnel, participation with community stakeholders, and a dedicated CWPP writer.

Departments will be evaluated based on the merit of their application and independent risk mapping from both state and federal sources.
