A More Focused Approach for Installing Smoke Alarms in Homes

 

New Orleans Fire Department had been installing smoke alarms in people’s homes for years, but they were looking for a more effective way to do it. By working in partnership with the city’s Office of Performance and Accountability, and a project out of New York, the Enigma Smoke Signals Project, they were able to develop a more focused approach using publicly available data.
