Opioid Crisis and the Story of Two Cities

The following content is courtesy of CRR Radio, a Vision 20/20 project.

Opioid crisis and the story of two cities in this episode of CRR Radio. First, we hear from Huntington (West Virginia) Fire Department Chief Jan Rader about how different parts of the community have come together. Chief Rader and two other women were featured in the Netflix, Oscar-nominated documentary Heroin(e).

We then talked with Firefighter Chris Hickey from the City of Manchester (New Hampshire) Fire Department about the innovative Safe Station program the department launched to help people in need get diverted into facilities that can help them.

Both of these are compelling stories of how community risk reduction was applied to an epidemic that is sweeping the nation.
