In recent years, hoarding has been sensationalized and has gained the attention and fascination of the general public through documentaries and TV shows. The problem, however, is very real and often devastating for about 5% of the general population. Increasingly, first responders are finding themselves faced with overwhelming, hazardous situations when encountering these hoarding environments at a time of crisis or emergency. This webinar discussed the external presentation of the disorder and explains the underlying mental-health components.
