In the responder community, there's no room for ongoing conflict and mistrust between organized labor and management, which impact service delivery and morale and impede fire department successes. The Labor-Management Alliance (LMA) program is a proactive resource to avoid and eliminate these issues.

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) began the LMA in the 1990s and the program's facilitator teams are IAFC and IAFF members. Learn more about the LMA program

Participants Say

The great thing about this program is that both the IAFF and the IAFC hold it up as the model of how to be successful as a department.

William "Shorty" BrysonChief (Ret.), Miami-Dade Fire Department

The delivery reminds participants from both labor and management that they are on the same team with the same ultimate mission of serving the community and taking care of their fellow firefighters.

Brian C. O’Neill2nd Vice President, Kentucky Professional Firefighters
