IAFC Foundation Receives Donation from 1-800-BOARDUP

At the Welcome Reception at FRI in Atlanta, Chief Jack McElfish, IAFC Foundation treasurer, accepted a generous donation on behalf of the IAFC Foundation from Jeff Clohessy, 1-800-BOARDUP national director. This $10,000 donation is the result of a charity golf outing that 1-800-BOARDUP organized to benefit the Foundation’s scholarship program.

It’s because of generous donations from individuals and organizations that the IAFC Foundation was able to award $30,000 in educational scholarships to well-deserving career and volunteer fire and emergency services personnel last year. The IAFC Foundation is proud to be able to help first responders achieve their education goals and encourages you to give back to the fire service by making a donation (pdf) today.

In an effort to raise additional funds for their scholarship program, the IAFC Foundation also sold two publications at FRI this year: the newly released Fire Chief’s Checklist (Second Edition) and Fire Station: Architectural Insight to Planning, Design & Construction.

Both of these publications are available for purchase through the IAFC Foundation website. More information about the IAFC Foundation’s scholarship program and current publications can also be found on the Foundation's website.

Jennifer Cooke is the association and services manager for the IAFC.
